Dr. Baawo attended Duke University on a full academic scholarship, he graduated Spring of 1999 with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. He continued his education at the Medical College of Georgia where he received his DMD in 2003. Immediately after finishing, Dr. Baawo started his internship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia from July 2003- July 2004 in the Oral& Maxillofacial Surgery Department.

Dr. Baawo believes in giving back to community and helping for the greater common cause. He has been Vice President of The North Georgia Dental Society for the past two years. He attends Big Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church and serves as Scoutmaster of Troop 997. He is a registered member of the National Dental Society (NDA), American Dental Association (ADA), Georgia Dental Society, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and the National Eagle Scout Association.
